reportedly it works with the fixes I've made since 9.7w, e.g., the patch in ftp://invisible-island.net/temp/ (whether it's a compiler- or vile-bug hasn't been isolated; my fixes are largely doing a sanity-check on the results from unsigned/signed conversions). -- Thomas E.
