I'm not sure. Here's everything I do, and know. After my card stops working, I try the following.
asoundconf list -- the card shows up correctly as Generic alsamixer -- the card is set as the default, and alsamixer comes up correctly, and shows that my sound settings have not changed and are not set to "mute." alsamixer -c1 -- same settings as above sudo modprobe snd-hda-codec sudo modprobe snd-hda-codec-ca0110 Modules load (or re-load) without a problem. But there is still no sound. It makes no sense. When the sound application is turned off, it turns off not only the "sound" but the cardbus??? Is that absurd. -- Creative X-Fi card stops suddenly, hard to re-start https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/462843 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
