As spoken with jdong iby IRC, let's look for a cleaner solution to this problem
for the SRU:
<jdong> I'd say let's try to come up with a more satisfactory explanation of
why it's broken
<jdong> before attempting to shove through silly one-liner hacks when we still
don't agree what the symptoms are yet :)
<jdong> eventually once we understand the problem enough to make a fix, I
would be interestd in a SRU for it
