Hi Luke, Thanks for your reply. But this doesn't work. I think I need to describe my situation in more detail.
My computer is a Dell Optiplex 760 Desktop with a internal speaker. I was using Ubuntu 9.04 32bit version, and both the speaker and headphone worked fine. Later I re-installed the 9.10 64bit version, then came the problem. I can't hear sound from the internal speaker now, but the headphone still works. ---- Best regards Weiping On Thu, Nov 5, 2009 at 12:15 AM, Luke Yelavich <[email protected]>wrote: > Please try installing linux-backports-modules-alsa-karmic-generic and > reboot. > > -- > on output audio to the speaker but only to the headphone > https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/474815 > You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber > of the bug. > > Status in “alsa-driver” package in Ubuntu: New > > Bug description: > this bug occured after i upgraded ubuntu from 9.04 to 9.10 > > ProblemType: Bug > Architecture: amd64 > ArecordDevices: > **** List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices **** > card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: AD198x Analog [AD198x Analog] > Subdevices: 2/2 > Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 > Subdevice #1: subdevice #1 > AudioDevicesInUse: > USER PID ACCESS COMMAND > /dev/snd/controlC0: weiping 1953 F.... pulseaudio > /dev/snd/pcmC0D0p: weiping 1953 F...m pulseaudio > Card0.Amixer.info: > Card hw:0 'Intel'/'HDA Intel at 0xfe6dc000 irq 16' > Mixer name : 'Analog Devices AD1984A' > Components : 'HDA:11d4194a,1028027f,00100400' > Controls : 34 > Simple ctrls : 20 > CheckboxCommand: alsa_record_playback > CheckboxDescription: > Pair a Bluetooth headset with your system.
