Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-applets

I'm able to lock my screen via the usual global key binding ctrl+alt+l.

If I try to lock via the applet though, using the entry "lock screen", nothing
happens when I click.
At least another option in the panel works correctly (I just switched user
using "switch user").

System: Karmic (installed from release)
gnome-applets:
  Installed: 2.28.0-0ubuntu2
