Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: mozilla-firefox

This produces that Firefox doesn't use the default applications defined
by the user in nautilus to open files but always use the defined in
/usr/share/applications ignoring the user's preferences.

Besides, using GIO, Firefox could spread a list of all applications
which can be used to open a filetype like nautilus does, nowadays
Firefox only shows one application.
