Binary package hint: luciole
When luciole is closed, the gui is leaved, but the puton process remains active.
Luciole is exited normally, whe menu->quit is activated.
The window 'destroy' event is not handled correctly.
Under ubuntu karmic 9.10
Used version of luciole : 0.7.3-0ubuntu1
The problem is repoductible also in dapper drake

When luciole is on acquisition and close/destroy button is clicked Luciole exit
but acquistion still running
