I just wanted to report success on a AMD x86_64 system with the rtl8192se chip. Im using WEP encryption to a hidden ssid access point. I am actually using Fedora 11 but google led me to this bug report.
It's a: TOSHIBA Satellite P505D-S8960 AMD Turion II M500(2.2GHz) 18.4" 4GB Memory kernel is: 2.6.29.4-167.fc11.x86_64 #1 SMP I compiled and installed the driver from post 81 above: rtl8192se_linux_2.6.0010.1113.2009.tar.gz after applying the patch David Woo posted in #90: rtl8192se_1116.patch The system has been stable now, I stress tested by transferring over 40GB and left the laptop running all night without issues. Previously it would crash after less than an hour.
