Scott, Some boots you get the error, some you don't.
When you get it, the duration on screen varies. Sometimes, all you can make out is a block of text flashing by. At other times, you can see structure to the block as follows: line1: "one or more of the mounts listed in /etc/fstab cannot yet be mounted" line2: "wait" or "waiting" followed by what appears to be an fstab specification line3: something about "null" or "nulls" line4: something about "ESC" When you get the error, it always has 4 lines. The font is very small, say half of the user ids on the login screen. At shutdown, a block of text flashes by in the upper left corner of the screen. Same small font. Variable number of lines of output - different boot, different number of lines. Never really succeeded in making it out. I never noticed any functionality differences between boots.
