OK, I finally managed to get the debug commands into the elantech config
file, kernel compiled and rebooted and here's what it says in dmesg:

r...@asusu81a:~$ dmesg | grep elantech
[   11.481465] elantech.c: Elantech version query result 0x04, 0x02, 0x11.
[   11.481470] elantech.c: Probably not a real Elantech touchpad. Aborting.
r...@asusu81a:~$

So, for whatever reason the kernel dosent even think this is the right
touchpad.

So, next step?
