I have this same bug on Ubuntu Karmic (BIOS A12), with the lastest updates.
What is odd, is that my home WiFi (Verizon, WPA2) works 95% of the time with
the "noapic" option, but the WiFi at my school (also Verizon, WPA2)
consistently disconnects around 5 minutes after booting, if it connects at all.
Last time I tried using the kernal-backports, WiFi did not work at all. The
Windows 7 RTM install works perfectly on both networks.
If there is anything I could try or give more information on, I'd be glad to,
as this bug is really annoying.
