I had contacted Firetrust a couple days ago inquiring about a "linux" version of MWP. Firetrust replied back that they were not supporting the linux version since thier last version release of 2.0. Here is the filename of the last linux version --- mailwasher_2.0.0_ubuntu6.10_7.04.deb --- just in case you may still be interested in running MWP on linux. It does work but it's OLD. Firetrust stated that they were not "making money" on the linux version. They did, however, mentioned that they might consider a linux version in the near future possibly.
I would prefer to run (via WINE if possible) my latest copy (v6.5.3) on Ubuntu but every time I try to enter my email address when creating a new account ... it crashes. I have to restart Ubuntu to clear the problem. MWP does start ok but can't create accounts (yet). Maybe I will figure it out. Who knows ??! I like MWP as it gives me the ability to check my mailbox without having to download the emails first. Maybe there is a reliable substitute for MWP that is for Ubuntu. Take care.
