It only happens a few times a day, difficult to reproduce in xev. I am mostly working with the mouse stick and its related mouse buttons. At some point, the mouse pointer does not react on clicks from these buttons any more. What mostly helps is pressing the (left) button associated with the touchpad. There seems to be some interference between the buttons associated with the stick and those associated with the touchpad.
