Public bug reported:
Since I upgraded to Karmic, I noticed an increase in the system
temperature especially when the laptop is unplugged or on wireless, and
the fan is constantly running at about ~3500 rpm:
~$ cat /proc/acpi/ibm/fan

speed: 3823
level: auto
~$ cat /proc/acpi/ibm/thermal
temperatures: 49 48 -128 49 37 -128 35 -128 51 51 -128 -128 -128 -128 -128
