I can confirm this issue with the upgrade from 9.04 jauty to 9.10
karmic, too!

The solution in #21 from Jeremy seems to work.

Perhaps one point in addition: When using amdcccle before and after fixing the 
problem I can see one little difference (perhaps there are more, but this one I 
do remember).Within the information tab down below the OpenGL info there was 
nothing before fixing and after fixing it says *renderer ATI HD4600 series, 
*OpenGL version 2.1.9016
I dont know whether it matters though. :-)
