You're being affected by bug 357395 (NetworkManager is required for
Ubuntu One) which we just released a fix for in our beta PPA:
https://edge.launchpad.net/~ubuntuone/+archive/beta You can use this
version of the client by adding the beta PPA (deb
http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntuone/beta/ubuntu karmic main ) to your
package sources and then from a terminal session:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
