Public bug reported:
Since I updated from 9.04 to 9.10, I encounter the problem that after
every or every second shutdown my keyboard just doesn't work. It acts as
if it does not have any power (I can't activate num-lock, for example).
Logging in with the virtual keyboard doesn't help either. If I restart
the computer, everything is fine - until the next shutdown.
I first suspected some relation to the gnome weather applet since it
seemed that the keyboard acted that way when I added the applet to the
panel (which I had to do quite often because it crashed after every
startup as well, but that's another bug). When I stopped using the
weather applet, everything was fine for a couple of weeks, until it all
started again yesterday.
I hope this helps - this bug is quite annoying :(
