Public bug reported:

       Not all the avi videos that can cause the flashing problem, but all the 
avi videos that downloaded from my school's FTP cannot be played properly.
       However most of these videos that be played fluently by media player 
classic, a free video player by GCC on Windows. I really don't think Windows is 
robust than Linux, but the media player classic really looked great
