I can confirm this bug on Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic) AMD64, kernel 2.6.31-14-generic #48-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 16 14:05:01 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux. Laptop is a Sony Vaio VGN-AR730E with Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN REV=0x4.
