** Description changed:

  Live CD hangs on the splash screen. When I do alt + f1 I get this
  screen:

  When I boot whithout the quit & splash bootoptions I get this:

  When I use the Alternate CD the installation wizzard starts but it hangs
  at the detection and mounting of my dvdrw drive.
  
  My current version of kubuntu (Edgy Eft) didn't install as is should
  either, after installation I had to change te kernel manualy to get it
  to work. The new kernel I found over here:
  
  http://dufo.tugraz.at/~prokop/grml-kernel/2.6.18-grml/
  
  System:
  mobo: MSI-P965 NEO-F Intel P965 Socket 775
  CPU: Intel-CORE 2 DUO E6400 2.13 Socket 775
  GFX: MSI NX7600GS Passive 256MB PCI Express
  1GB DDR2 RAM, Some Western Digital HDD's on SATA (not JMicron) and a NEC 
DVDRW ND3520A on PATA (JMicron chipset)
