Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: synaptic

When upgrading to the Koala, repositories for previous versions are simply
silently removed.
While there are indeed good reasons to remove the repository, doing do silently
is a usability problem. Users trying to update or reinstall from those
repositories are left in the dark as to why this wont work.

The example in case here was the sun virtualbox repository. Which broke after
the update because the kernel didnt contain the necessary modules, leaving the
user with a broken vbox that couldnt update because the repo had vanished.
Try explaining that to a fresh linux user ;)
