Thanks Micah. I tried running the "firefox -ProfileManager" from Konsole and although it appeared to accept the command, nothing happened. Here's what I did after that: I created a new user, logged out and logged in as that user. Opened Firefox and tested opening a pdf, dialog box looked the same (no text in ok and cancel buttons and buttons non-functional). So I went ahead and logged back in as my original user. Opened firefox and disabled all plugins and extensions and restarted firefox. Tested again and got the same issues with the dialog box buttons. I went to run the update manager, which found various updates to apply, various updates related to kde windows manager, totem plugins, etc. When I tried to install updates, it started, but then failed due to a whole slew of errors. Makes me wonder if something else with the OS maybe causing me issues? or maybe I am missing some updates I need?
Thanks again for the suggestion and any other help you can give me to steer me right. -Steve -- using firefox since last update to 3.5, dialog boxes do not show button text and do not work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/486398 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
