Hi Tom, I'm currently moving to a new town, so this will be short... ;)
First close "gtkpod", then open the file " ~/.gtkpod/prefs" in an editor and change the paths. In my case, I had to change "/usr/share/gtkpod- aac/scripts/" to "/usr/share/gtkpod/scripts/", and everything seems fine now.
