Indeed it seems like alsa cannot detect the card - Unknown hardware: 
"HDA-Intel" "Analog Devices AD1981".
If any devices are listed in 'hardware' tab of sound prefs, sound should work. 
I used to restart my ubuntu, when nothing appeared in the 'hardware' tab, and 
an internal audio device to appear after about a few restarts. But I think I 
found a solution to this type '$alsa reload' or '$alsa force-reload' whichever 
works for you and check if your device has appeared in the sound prefs.
