Issue the command man argument gives the result of an error:
[b]man: can not open configuration file / etc / manpath.config[/b]
made test program strace shows this result:
[b]open("/etc/manpath.config", O_RDONLY|O_LARGEFILE) = -1 EACCES (Permission
denied)[/b]
in fact, the configuration file exists and it is possible to read:
[b]:~$ ls -l /etc/manpath.config
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 5173 2009-09-07 12:18 /etc/manpath.config
:~$ cat /etc/manpath.config | wc -l
131[/b]
version man
[b]:~$ man -V
man 2.5.6[/b]
