Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: evince
Installed cups-pdf package which yielded a PDF printer in the system-
config-printer display. I extracted the last page of a PDF (18 page
document) to a file. Then I tried to print the single page with evince.
Both the psc-1310-series printer and the PDF printer produced a single
blank page from the printing process. Note: the printer is actually hp
psc 1315 all-in-one.
1) Using Karmic (9.10) Live CD
2) Package versions for evince and cups-pdf:
evince:
Installed: 2.28.1-0ubuntu1
Candidate: 2.28.1-0ubuntu1.2
Version table:
2.28.1-0ubuntu1.2 0
500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com karmic-updates/main Packages
*** 2.28.1-0ubuntu1 0
500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages
500 http://mirrors.kernel.org karmic/main Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
cups-pdf:
Installed: 2.5.0-8ubuntu1
Candidate: 2.5.0-8ubuntu1
Version table:
*** 2.5.0-8ubuntu1 0
500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/universe Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
3) What I expected to happen is a single page to render printed
4) What happened instead: a blank piece of paper went through the printer and
nothing was printed.
