Hi All,

I've been quietly watching for that last month and I am (still) as
confused as hell over this.

I have:

(hd0) /dev/sda
(hd1) /dev/sdb
(hd2) /dev/sdc

sda is windows 2k and another partition of data

sdb has loads of partions

sdb1 is 9-10 Karmic
sdb2 NTFS data
sdb3 NTFS data
sdb4 to 10 are old 9-04 and linux swap partitions that i am not using (just in
case I need to go back). i might format them to 1 partition for clarity

MBR is on sda

sdc is ? i have no idea. And Grub 2 does lots of looking at that if
when I did grub update for example and gives a pile of errors.

Is it the DVD drive?

So how do I fix the boot problem.

Is there a concise step by step guide. I do not wish to screw up my
PC and so far i've been to scared to do anything for fear of no boot. I
need this for my work.. (although I have my data backed up, I have no
intention of reloading OS's and all my extra SW again if i can possibly
avoid it)

Otherwise 9-10 works quite well. except for occasional black screens
when many windows are open :-(

any advice appreciated

aaron
