Hi,
My issue is now resolved by deleting and recreating the registered host
information on the Ubuntu One website, this problem appeared after I did
a clean reinstall of Ubuntu 9.10 using the same hostname, deleting the
registered host information on the website fixed the issue. Before I had
tried what you suggested but it didn't work in my case.

Status in “ubuntuone-client” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete
Bug description:
Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client
When I click connect on the applet or ubuntu one folder it just says
connecting then it disconnects. Nothing else. Am running ubuntu 9.10
karmic beta. The only time it seemed to work was when I set it up and it
allowed me to add the computer. Non of my files have ever been synced.
