Public bug reported:
I have two hard drives set in a Raid0 array and have Windows 7 installed to
that array. I added a third hard drive to the system and installed Ubuntu 9.10
to it. I disconnected the two Raid0 drives from the system while installing
Ubuntu 9.10, but left the intel controller set to raid so I could reconnect and
use my Windows 7 Raid0 array again once done installing Ubuntu.
This leaves me the following setup:
2X) 160gb HDD's in Raid0 Win7
1X) 320gb HDD Ubuntu 9.10
Here is where the problem occurs. When I boot to Ubuntu then restart
the system, during the boot process where you see the Intel Controller
list the attached drives, one of the two drives in the Raid0 shows a
"Failed" error. If I turn the system completely off and do a cold boot
it corrects itself and I can successfully boot into Windows 7. The next
time I boot into Ubuntu and restart, the same thing happens again. As
long as I do not boot Ubunty the Raid0 array is never affected, only
after booting in to Ubuntu.
I did not have this problem in previous releases, it has just become a
problem with the latest release.
Please advise!
