The newest Feisty beta Live-CD detects the screen of my iMac correctly:
In /etc/X11/xorg.conf I read 'Modes "1680x1050"'. But this does not work
with Vesa.
I have to:
-sudo killall gdm
-sudo nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Change to "1024x768"
-sudo gdm
The 1024er is not nice, but better than nothing.
The other live distros use 1024x768 automatically.
