My root account was locked at the time of upgrade. When doing sudo apt- get install couchdb-bin now, dpkg says it's already installed and I can't reproduce the original error by reinstalling couchdb-bin, with root accound locked nor unlocked. This occured only during the upgrade and asked me to report it, so I did.
