Public bug reported: Binary package hint: pulseaudio
Unlike others, this happened on a fresh karmic 32 install. I reformatted my karmic 64 to install a fresh 32 bit copy on it. I was playing sound nicely on the fresh install. After an apt-get upgrade and a reboot (I'm not sure if this is the reason), I can't play sound anymore. I can't see my sound card anymore on the Sound Preferences dialog. No device is present on "Hardware" and "Input." On "Output," it's just "Dummy Output" ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 AudioDevicesInUse: Error: command ['fuser', '-v', '/dev/dsp', '/dev/snd/by-path', '/dev/snd/controlC0', '/dev/snd/hwC0D0', '/dev/snd/hwC0D1', '/dev/snd/pcmC0D0p', '/dev/snd/pcmC0D6c', '/dev/snd/pcmC0D0c', '/dev/snd/pcmC0D6p', '/dev/snd/seq', '/dev/snd/timer', '/dev/sequencer2', '/dev/sequencer'] failed with exit code 1: Card0.Amixer.info: Card hw:0 'Intel'/'HDA Intel at 0xfc400000 irq 16' Mixer name : 'Realtek ALC262' Components : 'HDA:10ec0262,17340000,00100202 HDA:10573055,10573055,00100700' Controls : 26 Simple ctrls : 18 Date: Thu Nov 26 08:16:55 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala" - Release i386 (20091028.5) Package: pulseaudio 1:0.9.19-0ubuntu4 ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_PH.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-14.48-generic SourcePackage: pulseaudio Uname: Linux 2.6.31-14-generic i686 ** Affects: pulseaudio (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 -- Lost sound (after upgrade?) on karmic 32 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/488518 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
