This bug is still present in Karmic release. After discussion with asac
and dcbw, nm-applet would need to interface with PolicyKit to know the
state of sessions and "release" the DBUS name to let the new session
open nm-applet.
I thought I had seen this bug before -- this is likely a duplicate, but
I haven't been able to find the other bug yet. Subscribing myself as a
reminder :)
