Thanks for taking the time to file a bug and help making Ubuntu better.
In order to better help you, we would need additional information from
you:
- Please describe each individual steps you are taking to setup your network,
when you are seeing this issue. It will help us understand exactly which part
doesn't behave as expected.
- If you have settings in /etc/network/interfaces and would like to manage your
interfaces through NetworkManager, you should make sure the interface you are
trying to use with NM is not configured in /etc/network/interfaces. If that's
the case, please make a backup copy of your file (for obvious reasons :), then
remove the configuration for that interface, and try again. Does that work?
- Have you tried this again with the latest release? If so, what are your
results?
As far as I know, NetworkManager will not modify
/etc/network/interfaces. NM keeps this information elsewhere, but still
will retain it across reboots.
On the other hand, once connected you should see that /etc/resolv.conf
contains your DNS information.
