I need some Help. When I try to change the Appearance of the Desktop in Ubuntu 
9.10 it causes the computer to got to the startup with progress bar screen
Here is what I see.

Then I see this for 3 seconds.

After that it goes to this screen

It stays on this screen for 5 seconds, then goes blank for 3 seconds and
this screen reappears. It stay in this loop until I manually shut down
the system.
