Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gconf-editor
I have attempted to disable the lock screen on resume through gconf- editor. I have followed the following steps: 1. Run gconf-editor 2. Select apps/gnome-powermanager/lock 3. Uncheck gnome-keyring suspend, uncheck suspend, uncheck hibernate 4. Go to screensaver options 5. Uncheck lock screen when screensaver is active 6. Suspend/resume Expected result: No lock screen Actual result: Lock screen still pops up Then I checked "use screensaver options" in gconf-editor Expected result: No lock screen Actual result: Lock screen still pops up Then, following the advice given on this forum: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?s=343f018374125189d8c70c171996ad4d&t=1271790 I installed Ubuntu Tweak. This program finally enabled me to disable the lock screen. It seems as though this is a problem for some and not for others. I am running a fresh install of Karmic on an HP Pavilion dv6000 series laptop.
