If there are really legal issues (what i don't believe), at least there could be some post install notification pop-ups before update notifier shows up for the first time. This pop-up will sugest user to enable Medibuntu, Proposed updates and Backports.
After that could follow Software updates window pop-up which will users recommend to instal ubuntu-restricted-extras.
