Public bug reported:

Attempting to add my printers to Karmic is proving very difficult. One
Printer is on a CUPS server but Printer config refuses to connect to the
server. I'll report that issue separate from this one.

The other printer is LOCAL to this machine connected via USB. It is
detected, but will not ADD. Obviously won't print either. Running the
TROUBLESHOOTER resulted in the following text:

Page 1 (Scheduler not running?):
{'cups_connection_failure': False}
Page 2 (Choose printer):
{'cups_dests_available': [], 'cups_queue_listed': False}
Page 3 (Local or remote?):
{'printer_is_remote': False}
Page 4 (Choose device):
{'cups_device_attributes': {'device-class': u'direct',
                            'device-id':
u'MFG:Brother;CMD:HBP,BRPJL;MDL:MFC-420CN;CLS:PRINTER;',
                            'device-info': u'Brother MFC-420CN',
                            'device-make-and-model': u'Brother MFC-420CN'},
 'cups_device_listed': True,
 'cups_device_uri': 'usb://Brother/MFC-420CN'}
Page 5 (Locale issues):
{'printer_page_size': None,
 'system_locale_lang': None,
 'user_locale_ctype': 'en_CA',
 'user_locale_messages': 'en_CA'}

Since the printer was detected a 'clear' indication of the problem would
assist me in understanding why it will not ADD.

I would clearly expect a detected printer to add, request drivers,
provide some error that is relevent. That is not occuring.
