Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-settings-daemon

When xrandr plugin for gnome-settings-daemon is activated it causes wrong
xrandr behavior. When I connect external monitor to my laptop and then call
xrandr -q in terminal it reports connected monitor properties but also
activates external monitor together with internal monitor. This is wrong
behavior xrandr -q should only report modes and connected monitors and perform
no further action. It also causes compiz to crash my system because it always
crashes when I activate both monitors one left or right to another, but this is
another bug.
If I deactivate xrandr plugin then xrander command behaves as it should.

I am using Ubuntu 9.10, gnome-settings-daemon version is
2.28.1-0ubuntu2.

** Affects: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
