Does your machine have a TV card or an Audigy soundcard? My problem seems to
have been resolved after a full reinstall of the operating system. Still not
sure what caused the issue but I have a gut feeling that it may have
something to do with either my soundcard or the completely unnecessary
driver build I went thruogh for my WinTV hvr 1600 card. Little did I realize
that the operating system has out-of-the-box support for it.
