Confirmed here on Dell Inspiron 9400; Ubuntu amd64 9.10 (upgrade from 9.4). Consistently suspends correctly exactly once after reboot. The second attempt to suspend always results in a blank, backlit screen, sometimes with no additional HD activity, but other times with laptop fans suddenly at maximum and a lot of HD activity. A hard shutdown is required.
