Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: subversion

Connecting to an https repository that uses a self signed certificates warns
about that the CA autority is not trusted.
Adding the line
 ssl-authority-files = /path/to/ca.authority.certificate.pem
in the
 [global]
section of
 ~/.subversion/servers
does not suppress the warning.

Stracing svn shows that the CA certificate is red, but I can't
investigate further.
