Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: libservlet2.4-java
Output of lsb_release -rd:
Description: Ubuntu 8.10
Release: 8.10
(*Note*: Not fully upgraded to 8.10. Was in the process of upgrading from Hardy
[8.04] to Intrepid [8.10])
Output of apt-cache policy libservlet2.4-java-gcj:
libservlet2.4-java-gcj:
Installed: 5.0.30-8ubuntu3
Candidate: 5.0.30-8ubuntu3
Version table:
*** 5.0.30-8ubuntu3 0

During an upgrade from Hardy (8.04) to Intrepid (8.10), the upgrade for
libservlet2.4-java-gcj was being stalled by gcj-dbtool-4.3 which was reporting
100% of one of the cores in processing or 50% of total CPU processing. Letting
this process continue to run for more than 6 hours, I noticed the upgrade was
not continuing on. Basically, this completely stalled the upgrade from Hardy to
Intrepid.
Is it safe to remove this package and parent packages (aka. JAVA) to be
able to continue on the upgrade process without any more hindrances?
Thank you for your time.
