I couldn't find any mention of frequency scaling in my BIOS - I don't
think it has it.  From the shell I managed to update the kernel
2.6.28-13 between freezes, but that didn't help.  One time, howver, I
did get an error message, which doesn't happen usually.  I reproduce it
here :
