IMHO ubuntu should, if possible, switch to the official openoffice codebase, that does not have the bug and that seems to be more responsive on bug reports. The subscript/superscript bug was opened on Ubuntu in June 2009 and at Novell (go-oo does not have a bug tracking system of its own) in September 2009 after I finally found out how to report go-oo bugs upstream. So it is now 6 months it is open on Ubuntu and 3 months it is open upstream.
In spite of the fact that a correct codebase for the subscript rendering exists (fix exists: the official openoffice codebase does this right), go-oo has not fixed the bug yet. In principle I believed it could have been as easy as reverting some go-oo patch on the openoffice codebase, but evidently it is not like that. In any case, should you find it useful, official openoffice 3.1.1 deb packages for both i386 and amd64 with full localization are available at http://ftp.linux.cz/pub/localization/OpenOffice.org/ -- [ooo-build] OOo text rendering broken in transition from 3.0.1 to 3.1.0 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/384249 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
