Public bug reported:
Since updating to Karmic, X seems to freeze after resuming from suspend-
to-disk or suspend-to-ram. The screen remains black, apart from some
distorted patterns at the bottom of the screen, and a mouse pointer is
visible, but does not move. Killing X by pressing Alt-SysRq-K is
possible and restores the login screen.
The system is an IBM Thinkpad T41p with an ATI Mobility FireGL T2
graphics card. I am using the free radeon driver. Both, suspend-to-
disk and suspend-to-ram, had worked in Ubuntu at least since 5.04.
Maybe this bug is related to the new kernel-based mode setting?
