I can confirm this bug.

I found the following workaround :
- use an audio profile 4.1 (or more speakers) (gnome-volume-control, hardware 
tab),
- plug your speakers in the blue/grey or pink jack (not the green one),
- use "Analog Output / No Amplifier" as the connector (gnome-volume-control, 
output tab),
- play a sound.
