@All: it must be a way to specific to set kernel mode settings (KMS) for the brightness prob somehow! I think that's the way to get a workaround.
My experience with "nomodeset" in the kernel line in grub which kills the whole KMS was that my msi wind u100 luxury brakes down the performance but the flickering doesn't exist anymore! Hardkeys functioning..but grafics too slowly. Second i specified the kernel line with "i915.modeset=0". That means, that KMS is not in use for grafics and so on (...probably the main causer). The flickering still exists! This comparison shows me that there is may be another process we have to find out : "?".modeset=0". The grafics cannot be responsible at all. Someone around here with more knowledge in KMS? cheers knuutsen -- brightness is broken on MSI WIND U100 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/415023 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdebase-workspace in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
