Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we can't fix it because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.
We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behaviour you expected, and 3. the behaviour you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). If my understanding is correct, you have a computer with Windows XP installed. You installed Ubuntu 8.04 next to Windows XP and you cannot boot anymore. What system can you not boot into? Is the problem only with booting Windows or Ubuntu or is it with both? It would also help if you described your different partitions in details. Thanks! ** Package changed: ubuntu => grub (Ubuntu) -- unknown filesystem>grub rescue https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/491827 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
