You need to add "#!/bin/bash" at the top of that script, otherwise it
will use /bin/sh. /bin/sh is different from /bin/bash and doesn't
support brace expansion.
Since this is not a bug I'm marking it as invalid. Feel free to continue
to report any other bugs you may find.
